For the last 2 days my Apple Watch has discharged its battery in less than 9 hours. The only change made is my iPhone 6 updating to iOS 9.3.2.
Is there a known issue with this version? Apple Watch battery life is short enough but less than 9 hours is unusable. I have gone through all the variations of resetting both watch and phone but to no avail.

If you have not yet done so, it may help to also update your Apple Watch to the latest software:
Otherwise, given that you have already tried restarting your devices in all combinations, it may help to unpair and re-pair your watch.
The Watch app on iPhone takes a backup of your watch automatically when unpairing via the app. When setting it up again, choose to Restore from Backup. Most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions (eg Apple Pay cards, passcode).

For the best performance from your watch, keep both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth permanently enabled on your iPhone.
Also: if you have previously used any third-party fitness tracking apps (such as Strava) to record workouts, check whether there is presently a paused activity within any of those apps on your watch. If there is, end that activity from within that app on your watch (not on your iPhone).
Noticed I hadn't the latest Apple Watch update just after posting this so was in the process of updating when you suggested it. I wouldn't have know there was an update unless seeing it as one of the drop down options here.
Why does my phone, mac and iPad all tell me there are updates and not my watch? Am I missing a setting somewhere?

By the way the update cured the battery drain issue. All back to normal so must have been something within iOS 9.3.2 that caused it?

A notification indicator on the My Watch tab in the Watch app indicates when a software update is available for your watch:

No that was not showing. I had to actively go search for the updates in 'Software Update" on my phone. That was my point, all my other products tell me except my watch which I have to search for. That's why I was suspecting a setting was off perhaps.
